Indivisible – May Day for the VA – Books & Basics Drive – April 25th
Join Indivisible We Will Persist on Saturday, April 25, as we stand in solidarity with the national May Day strikes by supporting those who have served. Indivisible is hosting a dual-collection drive to provide immediate comfort and mental escape for our active-duty military and veterans. Items collected on April 25th will be donated to the St. Charles VA Satellite location or to the St. Louis VA on May Day.
What We’re Collecting:
- Paperback Books: New or gently used. Paperbacks are preferred for their portability and ease of shipping to remote locations. Items will be donated to the St. Charles VA Satellite location.
- New Undergarments: New and unused undershirts, underwear, and personal care items. All sizes for each are accepted. Items will be donated to the St. Louis VA.
Drop-off Location: Northeast and Southeast corners of Mid Rivers and Suemandy protest location.
Date: Saturday, April 25th
Time: 12pm – 1:30pm
Date: Saturday, April 25th
Time: 12pm – 1:30pm
For those stationed far from home or veterans transitioning through difficult times, these items are more than just “stuff.” A book offers a vital mental escape from the high-stress environment of service, helping to reduce isolation and maintain mental health. Meanwhile, high-quality undergarments are often the most requested yet least donated items; they provide essential hygiene, dignity, and physical comfort when access to laundry or supplies is limited.
By participating, you are directly contributing to the well-being of our veterans while honoring the May Day spirit of collective action and mutual aid.
Thank you.
