SUMMARY:The Stories of Detention Facilities: Immigration in St. Charles County
DESCRIPTION:Location will be sent to registrants!\nhttps://actionnetwork.org/events/the-stories-of-detention-facilities-immigration-in-st-charles-county\nThe Stories of Detention Facilities: Immigration in St. Charles County\nJoin us for an afternoon with Donna Hughes-Brown, a Missouri grandmother and longtime green card holder who came to the U.S. at age 11. While she was returning from a family funeral in Ireland, she was arrested at customs and held in ICE detention for nearly five months. Her case rested on two bounced checks from more than a decade ago. Donna will share what she went through in detention and the advocacy work she has taken on since her release.\nWe’ll also hear from the MICA Project, a St. Louis organization that provides legal services, organizing, and education for immigrant communities. MICA will explain the immigration policies in St. Charles County that are hurting our immigrant neighbors and how we can organize together to push back.\n \n
