The first Mid-County Protest for Trans Rights was safe, meaningful, joyful, and helped us build community. Thanks to all who joined us!\nWe learned a lot and will be back at it on Monday, June 16.\nWe will gather again at the intersection of Big Bend and Manchester in Maplewood, this time from 4:45 until 6:30 pm.\nLike before, this will be family-friendly, safe and welcoming to all who understand that trans rights are human rights! Bring your signs and flags, bring your bells, bring your bluetooth speakers and your kid friendly playlists! (And whoever knows the unicyclist, please invite that beautiful human again!) Dark times call for strong community. Join us!\nWhy June 16th?June is Pride Month! We celebrate the diversity that those in the queer community bring to our world. Also, and critical to the trans community, SCOTUS will decide the Skrmetti case just before or just after this date. This case will impact the availability and legality of gender affirming care for the trans community. NOW is the time to show up to support our beloved trans youth, our beloved trans family, and our beloved trans friends!\nIf you were with us last time, commit to bringing someone with you this round. If you’re new, you only need to commit to having courage. If you’ve never participated in a protest or rally like this, this is an easy, safe entry point. You are welcome and encouraged to join us for a few minutes or the whole two hours.\nThis will be a safe way for you (and any kids or chosen family you bring) to show your visible and vocal support for a much marginalized and persecuted group.\nTomorrow, there will be more of us!\n
